Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Supplier & Relationship Lead.
In this role, you will oversee and manage strategic partners in Retail Operations, ensuring they receive accurate information and insights to maximise their service and commercial value to the organisation. You will also support the Operational Leadership team and Supplier Manager in negotiating commercial and contractual terms with third-party suppliers to secure optimal value and benefits.
This role will be assigned to our Leeds office, where the successful candidate will be based two days per week.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage strategic partners to enable them to meet or exceed ENGIE’s and industry expectations in terms of cost, time, quality, and service.
- Maintain and develop productive working relationships with current and new partners, negotiating new contracts with the support of the leadership team, Legal, and Procurement where required.
- Regularly and efficiently communicate progress, key risks, and issues to the Supplier Manager for Retail Operations.
- Act as the escalation point when issues cannot be resolved between partners and ENGIE delivery and support teams.
- Provide a reusable framework to manage current and evaluate potential future strategic partners.
- Establish and support best-value performance-based contracts (in line with legal, security, and data protection guidance).
- Ensure strategic partners are aware of governance and internal control and assurance bodies and enable them to navigate ENGIE solution validation, security, and data protection policy.
- Maintain and publish performance metrics.
- Conduct regular and frequent service reviews of performance from strategic partners, ensuring improvement actions are managed in line with agreed plans.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experienced in negotiation of commercial agreements.
- Excellent knowledge in how to quality assure externally supplied solutions.
- Good knowledge of how to research, qualify, and assess new partners and their products and present conclusions for approval.
- Good understanding of the procurement and contract management lifecycles.
- Knowledge of B2B electricity and gas UK Retail business processes and systems is desirable.
- Proven ability to performance manage strategic partners using purposeful metrics and measures, applying quality assurance to deliverables to ensure value is being delivered.
- Understand the financial consequences and benefits of contractual arrangements.
- Excellent communicator and facilitator with the ability to diffuse tense situations and deal with conflict across different levels of an organization.
- Strategic planning skills to distinguish key threats and opportunities within a partnership.
Qualifications:
- Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or specific related experience is desirable but not mandatory.
